Dealing with Anxiety

Anxiety is an unpleasant feeling we all face at different times of our lives which affect us mentally, the way we behave, our relationships with people. Sometimes it could be difficult to create good content on the blog and most at times, issues arising from my personal and daily life can make an individual lose focus even when passion is involved.

Asides sharing style posts here, I wish to commence using this platform to share my life and stories with you, and hopefully, we can encourage ourselves-No one has a perfect life if you ask me, we all have our struggles and glories.  One decision I took this year was to take it one step at a time in every area that affects my life because I was beginning to find myself under pressure and that led to having anxiety.

One of the ways I’m taking to reduce and handle anxiety is first, learning to anchor on God’s words and promises for my life. My favourite text that helps me glide through every day is:

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Philippians4:6-7 -MSG”

Second is choosing my battles carefully and deciding what to or not to fight for. In other news, letting go of situations I don’t have control over. Never afraid to start all over no matter how many times I fail.

The third is making healthy choices for myself by exercising 5 days a week, eating right, drinking enough water and sleeping early.

Lastly, is directing my thoughts towards positive things and trying to occupy myself with a lot of activities during the day such as school work, blogging and researching on topics that interest me like fashion, fitness, music, healthy lifestyles etc.
