Who wouldn’t love the weekends to last longer? With a lot of parties and events to attend. We all love jollification but obviously, the weekend ends on Sunday and the busy life kicksoff on Monday.
Many dread Mondays just as I used to until I discovered something incredibly awesome about Mondays. do you know it could be the most amazing day of the week if you choose to make it one? The problem with most of us at times is that we look at Monday with fear and anxiety instead of looking at the brighter side….
Today, I’m going to share with you a few tips on how to liven up your Mondays at work as a professional
- Dress up
whether you are an employer or an employee in an organisation, it’s important that you choose an outfit that makes you perk up. If you can afford it, start the week in either new clothes, necktie, jewellery, footwear etc. You must not be a fashionista to pull this through. It makes you look forward to showcasing your buy and getting compliments from colleagues. You can also incorporate some colours to your outfit, this tends to boost your mood and performance at work
2. Plan Your Day
Proper planning of your day is extremely as important as your appearance on Monday. Remember the saying “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail”. Rather than trying to organise everything on Monday mornings, map out and prioritise your activities/projects for the day, and if possible for the week before Monday. If you are able to do this, you would find yourself exude so much boldness at work which would in turn improve the quality of your work.
3. Positive Vibes Only
It may interest you to know, the mood at which you begin your day determines how well or bad it would remain. Try to inculcate a positive attitude towards life generally and it would have a return effect on your job. You can start your day with good music or motivational messages while dressing up or driving to work. It not only gears you up for the day, but also gives you the right attitude towards work.
4. Make Friends at work
Good friends supports each other. Having great colleagues at work can make the workplace conducive. Connect with people with like minds and interest in the organisation. This gives you a sense of belonging and helps with increasing productivity. It also fosters collaboration with colleagues.
5. Create a Beautiful Workspace
Your day at work can be boring if you leave your workspace unkept. Just before you leave office each day,remove every paperwork on your desk to your drawer or cabinet so that when you resume in the morning the next day, you begin with a fresh start kind of mindset. Think of adding some exciting pieces like flowers, chocolates, a picture frame you admire so much to your workspace to make it beautiful, comfortable and conducive.
Maintaining a good health practice can go a long way in getting you ready for work. Exercise increases blood flow in the body thereby helping you sleep better which naturally would boost your mood for the day. Exercises like walking, swimming, jogging, dancing etc can easily be pulled off after work in preparation for the next day’s tasks. Whilst in the office, no matter how busy your day is going, find time to stretch your legs by walking to your colleague for an info instead of using your phone. simple breathing exercise too can relieve you of stress.
Friends, be kind to yourself and smile on Monday mornings. it is true the weekend is over but there are plenty more awesome weekends ahead. Discipline yourself to see each day of the week as your most productive day. Be grateful to God for the gift of life and the providence of your job. Appreciate and enjoy the level you are in life, grow and hope for the better. Moreover, strive to be the best in all that you do for it is the path to excellence.
